Cicely Parnas, Erin Rafferty, Tim Kantor
Madalyn and Cicely joined Jaime Laredo and Sharon Robinson in a performance of the Brahms Sextet in B Major on Sunday, October 9, in IU’s Auer Hall on the Jacobs School of Music campus. The concert entitled “Strings, Glorious Strings” closed with this romantic masterpiece as the finale show-stopper. The music critic wrote, "Four students (violinist Madalyn Parnas, violists Tim Kantor and Erin Rafferty, and cellist Cicely Parnas) joined them for an elegant and intimately warm performance of the melodies-rich, sunny B-Flat Major Sextet, Opus 18, of Brahms: a fitting conclusion to a happy event."

The Parnas sisters then made their way to Poughkeepsie NY for their debut with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic under the baton of Randall Fleischer. On October 15th at the elegant Bardavon 1869 Opera House, Madalyn and Cicely performed two double concertos: Vivaldi’s beloved "Double Concerto for Violin and Cello" and the very romantic "La Muse et le Poete" by Saint-Saens. The thrilling performance fuelled a most enthusiastic standing ovation with two curtain-calls from the capacity crowd, and the music critic filed his endorsement review.
