This gorgeous photo by Hiroyuki Ito was published in the New York Times on Tuesday, Oct 13, 2009, accompanied by a review of the Parnas/Serkin Trio performing for People's Symphony Concerts. The hall was filled at the Washington Irving School, where the Parnas/Serkin Trio played Beethoven's "Ghost" Trio, Ravel's Trio in A minor, and Brahms' Trio No. 1 in B Major. The Trio received a standing ovation with much cheering!
Seventeen hours later, the Trio performed Miniatures by Frank Bridge, the Schubert Bb Major Trio, and Brahms' Trio No. 1, in Tishman Hall at The New School, again to a full house, again to lavish applause, a standing ovation and much cheering! A lovely reception followed this very special event, which also marked the 50th year of Frank Salomon's leadership of Schneider Concerts at the New School. What an honor to have been part of this celebration!
