Madalyn Parnas & The Kabalevsky Violin Concerto

On November 1, 2 & 5, 2003, Madalyn made her orchestral debut at the age of 12, performing the Kabalevsky Violin Concerto with the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Alexandra Ludwig.  The Orchestra's full-time conductor, Luis Garcia-Renart, was unable to appear due to illness, and Ms. Ludwig stepped in with just two days' notice.  Also on the program were Ashley Bathgate playing the Kabalevsky Cello Concerto, and Madalyn's teacher, Betty-Jean Hagen as concertmistress.  A review in the Kingston Daily Freeman of the Nov. 2 concert at Bearsville Theater called Madalyn "a young mistress of the violin [who] executed with poise and mastery."
