This one word was heard again and again at the reception following the concert in Atlanta on Saturday, March 21. With Maestro Philip Rice conducting the Georgia Philharmonic, Cicely delivered an amazing performance as guest soloist.
As Miss Parnas first entered the stage in a gorgeous green gown, the capacity audience began cheering. But that was just the beginning. After opening with Dvorak's Waldesruhe, Cicely burst forth with a flawless performance of Kabalevsky's Concerto No. 1 in g minor, dead-center on the composerís vision for this work.
Even before the end of the concerto the concert-goers were on their feet in anticipation of the explosive finale! Numerous ovations, and curtain-calls; Cicely closed with a Bach encore.
Tune in to New York's WQXR on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 9:00 PM to hear a portion of this concert.
